SUDBURY, UK, 8 July 2026

Secure ITAD has launched HD Maximus, its flagship mobile data destruction platform, following its global debut at the ITAD & Circular Electronics Expo in Frankfurt.

Built for organisations that need sensitive data-bearing assets destroyed securely within their own controlled environment, HD Maximus brings industrial shredding capability directly to customer sites. The platform is designed to support high-volume, witnessed and audit-ready destruction of hard drives, SSDs, servers and mixed storage media without requiring intact assets to leave site before destruction.

The 26-tonne mobile unit combines Secure ITAD’s in-house engineered HD Maximus shredder with onboard power generation, customer witnessing facilities, CCTV coverage, AI-assisted asset capture and full chain-of-custody reporting.

HD Maximus has been developed in response to a growing challenge in secure data destruction: modern storage media is becoming denser, more varied and more time-consuming to process using outdated or repurposed shredding equipment.

Traditional mobile shredding systems are often based on hydraulic technology originally designed for general waste rather than data-bearing assets. HD Maximus takes a purpose-built approach, using twin 22kVA electric motors to support consistent high-load performance while helping avoid the slowdown, inefficiency and spill risk associated with hydraulic systems.

The platform is capable of processing hard drives, solid state drives, backup tapes, RAID arrays, mobile devices, servers, networking equipment, PCBs, motherboards and other electronic media. Hard drives are reduced to approximately 5mm particles, with additional specialist destruction systems available for ultra-fine SSD and mixed-media requirements.

A key part of the HD Maximus service is its focus on evidence and audit confidence. Assets can be captured before shredding using AI-assisted technology to record details such as make, model and serial number. The destruction process can then be witnessed live and supported by multi-angle video evidence, helping customers demonstrate what was destroyed, when it was destroyed, how it was destroyed and under whose control.

“HD Maximus has been built around the realities of modern data destruction. Drives are denser, projects are larger and customers need stronger evidence than ever before. The question we kept hearing was simple: why does it take so long?

“HD Maximus is our answer to that. It brings high-powered, purpose-built shredding directly to the customer’s site, while strengthening visibility and audit confidence through AI-assisted capture, live witnessing and multi-angle video evidence. It is designed not only to destroy data securely, but to prove that it has been destroyed properly.”

HD Maximus is now available for on-site data destruction projects across the UK and Europe. The service is particularly suited to data centres, enterprise IT teams, government bodies, defence organisations, financial institutions, healthcare providers, managed service providers and other organisations operating in high-security or heavily regulated environments.
