Commissioned in Q4 2025, HD Maximus combines 5mm shredding with AI serial capture and multi-angle video evidence to reduce time on site and strengthen audit confidence.
Secure ITAD has officially commissioned HD Maximus, its flagship in-house engineered mobile shredder, designed specifically to address the growing challenge of on-site data destruction: high-density hard drives that take too long to shred using outdated, repurposed equipment.
Hard drives have become smaller, denser and increasingly time-consuming to destroy at secure sites. In response, Secure ITAD has developed a mobile solution engineered from the ground up for high-load, consistent performance — using 2 × 22kVA electric motors rather than traditional hydraulic systems.
HD Maximus is built to process a broad range of media types, including HDDs, SSDs, tapes, networking devices, servers, and PBBs (motherboards), while maintaining a clear evidential trail throughout the destruction process. The service incorporates AI technology to scan and record make, model and serial number for each drive before shredding, alongside multi-angle video recording to support a defensible audit trail.
“The response we kept hearing from clients was simple: why does it take so long? Drives are getting denser and particle requirements are getting smaller,” said Garry Costen, Group CEO at Secure ITAD. “HD Maximus is purpose-built to keep throughput high and reduce time on site. It also strengthens assurance with AI-driven capture and multi-angle video evidence — removing the time-consuming manual work that slows projects down.”
Secure ITAD will complete formal throughput validation testing in January 2026, with benchmarking results published once testing is finalised.
